A Caregiver Success Story: Kyle Herron
Kyle Herron, caregiver by night and cosplayer by day, graduated the Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program a couple of years ago. After graduation, Kyle successfully tested for his Certified Nursing Assistant license and has been working at the Green House Cottages of Southern Hills, and assisted living community in his hometown of Rison, ever since. “The cottage that hired me was an all-female crew and residents, so I was the first male to work there,” he says. “Of course, it was hard for the women residents to trust a male CNA, but after a few weeks, they knew I was there to do my job.” Kyle eventually got put on the night shift, his preference, and even worked as The Cottage’s van driver for a time. Kyle has been employed at The Green House Cottages for about two years now.
