Free Family Caregiver Workshop on Dementia Care March 2-3
This FREE 2-day course provides an overview of information on dementia and is for any family member helping to provide unpaid care for an older adult with dementia at home. Time is allotted for lecture, hands-on demonstrations, and individual questions. Topics include:
- Types and stages of dementia
- Dealing with caregiver stress or burnout
- Communication techniques
- Enhancing self esteem and dignity
- Maintaining independence at home
Attendance highly recommended (though not required) for both days from 12-4pm.
Classes will be held at the Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Center in Jonesboro at 2813 Forest Home Road. Please call 870-207-7600 for registration and additional information.
