Caregiver Programs Available in Jonesboro
Jonesboro, AR ~ Helping you discover ways to handle caregiver challenges are very important to us at the UAMS Centers on Aging and Schmieding Caregiver Training Program. Coming up this week and next in Jonesboro are 2 events that will help caregivers meet those challenges with less difficulty.
- A Caregiver Support Group for families of those living with Alzheimer’s. This monthly meeting, in cooperation with the Alzheimer’s Association, is provided free of charge for family caregivers. Knowing what to expect and having access to the resources and support available can be empowering and lead to an increased commitment to your loved one. We are determined to help your through this together.
- The next meeting is Tuesday, March 19 at 4:30 p.m. – 303 E. Matthews, Suite 201 in Jonesboro.
2. Family Caregiver Workshop – Caregiving Skills – For anyone caring for someone in the home to assist with bathing, dressing, use of assistive devices, transferring, home safety (especially in the bathroom), wheelchair use and mobility. This one day workshop will be held on March, 27th from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Schmieding Caregiver Training Program location, 303 E. Matthews, Suite 201 in Jonesboro. Lunch will be served, so please register by calling 870-207-7595. Don’t wait til something happens, be pro-active and ready to prevent falls or address other problems.
