Geriatric Home Caregiver Student Graduation

On Thursday, the Schmieding Home Caregiver Training program located at the South Arkansas Center on Aging in El Dorado held the last graduation celebration of 2017.  Our three graduates, Raven Honeycutt, Melinda Dison, and Shavonte Jackson spent the past 6 weeks training and practicing in preparation for the Certified Nursing Assistant exam.

The three students have received their Geriatric Home Caregiver Certificate.  This includes a 40 hour In-Home Assistant course, a 16 hour Alzheimer’s and Dementia course and a 60 hour Home Care Assistant course.  In addition, they spent two days doing clinical skills at Oak Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation.

We are so proud of our students and their accomplishments.  We fully believe they are ready to join the workforce and provide compassionate, professional care and hope they continue on in their education.
