Practice Makes Perfect- HCA Class Masters Skills

The students of the current Home Care Assistant class are nearing the end of their 116 hours of certified caregiver training. Each of them hope to continue on to become a Certified Nurse’s Aide through the state by taking their CNA exam. Part of the skills they must master in the HCA class is isolation safety and procedure for a care recipient with a contagious disease. Students enjoyed this hands-on lecture, and each got to practice how to safely care for such a patient.  This is just one example of the many skills and procedures Schmieding students master.

The Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program is different from other “CNA programs”. For students ultimately seeking CNA certification, our program is certified by the Office of Long-Term Care, and successfully completing our program will more than prepare you for the Arkansas CNA exam. However, the goal of the SHCT program is to produce compassionate and skilled caregivers who can work in the home setting, providing equal if not greater quality care compared to that of a facility. From individuals looking for a new career to family members needing skills to care for their loved ones, we’ve trained them all! If you have the heart of a caregiver, and the drive to learn and work, we can help you on your journey.
