The Single Parent Scholarship Fund offers aide to those seeking a professional certification in a number of areas. Qualified applicants are eligible for a one time award of $500 that can be applied to any of the courses offered in the Center\u2019s Home Caregiver Training Program.<\/p>\n<h2>Things to Consider<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Applicants that have an associate\u2019s or bachelor\u2019s degree <strong>do not<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Applicants holding a professional certification will only be considered if they are seeking a higher level certification.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Eligibility Requirements<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Single Parent status\n<ul>\n<li>Defined by the funding body as: a family with children under age 18 and\/or severely disabled adult child over 18, headed by a parent who is widowed or divorced and not remarried, or by a parent who has never been married and is caring for the children without assistance of another parent in the home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Legal US resident OR a resident of DACA status living in Carroll, Madison, or Washington county, Arkansas<\/li>\n<li>High School diploma or GED<\/li>\n<li>Living at or near the poverty line (up to 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines)<\/li>\n<li>Applicant is pursuing a career-oriented course of study (full or part-time) to ensure a better standard of living for your family<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Application Materials<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Application form online at http:\/\/www.spsfnwa.org<\/li>\n<li>Personal Statement<\/li>\n<li>Letter of acceptance\/admission from the Schmieding Center<\/li>\n<li>A copy of valid photo ID<\/li>\n<li>A copy of applicant\u2019s most recent Federal Tax return (1040)<\/li>\n<li>Signed memo attached to the application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Submission Information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Single Parent Scholarship Fund applications can be completed online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spsfnwa.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/www.spsfnwa.org<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The Single Parent Scholarship Fund requires applicants to complete an in-person interview which will be scheduled as part of the application process.<\/li>\n<li>There is no deadline for this application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Schmieding Center for Senior Health &amp; Education (hereafter, \u201cthe Center\u201d) is pleased to include the Single Parent Scholarship Fund as an option for single moms and dads to participate in the Center\u2019s Home Caregiver Training Program.
