Schmieding Training Classes starting in August, 2018. Enroll now!

Get started in a career that is in demand by becoming certified as a home caregiver or certified nurse assistant (CNA).  The Schmieding In-Home Assistant Class (IHA/PCA), provides training in personal care and basic home safety.  This 40-hour class satisfies the training required by Arkansas law for caregivers who are paid to provide in-home care of a person age 50 or older.

The CNA training offers the skills necessary to seek certification as a CNA.  Licensed CNA’s have many employment opportunities in long-term care, including health and rehab facilities, assisted living level II facilities, home care, home health care, hospitals, clinics, and more.

All Schmieding classes meet state and federal guidelines and are taught by UAMS employees who are licensed registered nurses with many years of teaching experience.

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR/AED classes is taught by a certified AHA instructor.  It provides training for the layperson plus choking  rescue procedures.  No previous training or experience is needed.

Enroll online for any of the Schmieding Training classes.  If you have questions, email SCInfo@uams.edu or call 479-750-1989.
