Caller ID or documents sent by email may look official, but they are not.<\/li>\n<li>Callers threaten you with arrest or other legal action.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be alert! Social Security may call you in some situations but will NEVER:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Threaten you<\/li>\n<li>Suspend your Social Security number<\/li>\n<li>Demand immediate payment from you<\/li>\n<li>Require payment by cash, gift card, pre-paid debit card, or wire transfer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Be active.
