Medicare Open Enrollment: Are You Ready?

Medicare Open Enrollment (Oct. 15- Dec. 7 each year) is the time during which Medicare beneficiaries can review, compare, and make changes to their Part D or Medicare Advantage Plans. Since plan prices and coverage can change from year to year, it is recommended that you look at available plans for the upcoming year during this time each year even if you are happy with your current plan. If you find you are happy with your current plan and do not wish to change, you can still keep it as long as your insurance company still offers it.

If you are looking to compare the available plans in your area, the Medicare Plan Finder is an online tool that can help you compare available plans in your area. By entering your specific Medicare information as well as all prescription medications you are taking, the Plan Finder can help you choose the plan that is best for you.

If you do not have access to the internet or are not comfortable using the online Plan Finder yourself, you can find a local counselor to help you compare plans by calling 1-800-224-6330
