Oct. 28: National Drug Take Back Event
Which of the following poses the greatest risk to your children this Halloween?
a. Razorblades in chocolate bars.
b. Poison candy.
c. Your own medicine cabinet.
Though checking your children’s candy at Halloween is highly recommended, your own medicine cabinet poses a much greater risk to children. Family and friends are the main source of abused prescription drugs. Clean out your medicine cabinet before someone does it for you! Law enforcement agencies statewide will be collecting unused and expired prescription drugs as a part of the National Drug Take Back Event on Saturday, October 28 from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM at multiple locations across the state and nation.
Drug overdoses are the leading cause of unintentional deaths in the country. Over 140 people in the U.S. die each day due to drug overdose. Don’t let yourself or a family member become a part of these statistics.
