New In-Home Assistant Class Starts August 24

We will be starting a new In-Home Assistant Class in Pine Bluff on Thursday, August 24. The In-Home Assistant (IHA) Class, the first in our certified caregiver training series, provides information and skills training necessary to provide support for older adults who require minimal to moderate assistance. Students receive instruction on assisting with basic activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, walking, and meal preparation; how to provide companionship & engagement in conversation; and activities on how to maintain a clean and safe environment. The goal of this course is to prepare individuals to provide safe, compassionate, and supportive care to older adults while allowing them to maintain maximum independence.

Graduates of the IHA course will meet the requirements to provide in-home care to individuals in the state of Arkansas, and they may also go on to test for CNA certification if they continue to complete the next 2 levels of training. The deadline to register for the Aug. 24 class in Pine Bluff is Friday, August 18. For more information on classes in Pine Bluff, call 870-879-1440.
