{"id":215,"date":"2013-12-18T13:07:56","date_gmt":"2013-12-18T19:07:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/arcaregiving.org\/jonesboro\/?p=215"},"modified":"2013-12-18T13:07:56","modified_gmt":"2013-12-18T19:07:56","slug":"coming-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uamscaregiving.org\/jonesboro\/2013\/12\/18\/coming-soon\/","title":{"rendered":"New Certification Law Affects Home Caregivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>NEW CERTIFICATION LAW AFFECTS HOME CAREGIVERS<\/strong><\/span><em><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Beginning in April 2014, all caregivers in Arkansas who are paid to provide care for someone in their home will be required to hold a certification with at least 40 hours of training or at least one year\u2019s experience in a long term care facility.\u00a0 This change will affect many who already have a great deal of experience in this field, but no formal training.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>At Schmieding, we recognize the great need for educating home caregivers.\u00a0 In light of the new law, we will be offering a new class, In Home Assistant (IHA) which provides the 40 hr certification needed to fulfill the new requirements.\u00a0 Also called a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) this class will offer instruction and\u00a0 information necessary for providing support and assistance to older adults requiring <strong>minimal to moderate<\/strong> assistance.
