Why choose Schmieding Home Caregiver Training to start your career as a paid caregiver?

By the year 2025, 1 in 26 Americans can expect to live to the age of 100. Which means, the number of personal care aides will need to grow by 49% to meet demand. The UAMS Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Program was founded in 1999 to meet this demand. The program offers a three course series that focuses on training exceptional caregivers, with a statewide completion rate of 96% in certified classes.

An important and significant portion of this series is a three day course that focuses on Alzheimers and Dementia. This course teaches how to provide care and support for a person diagnosed with Dementia. Instruction includes topics such as different types of dementia and practical tips on how to manage challenging behaviors.
