{"id":1466,"date":"2018-01-18T12:25:48","date_gmt":"2018-01-18T18:25:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/uamscaregiving.org\/eldorado\/?p=1466"},"modified":"2018-01-18T12:25:48","modified_gmt":"2018-01-18T18:25:48","slug":"success-what-is-it-and-how-can-it-help-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/uamscaregiving.org\/eldorado\/2018\/01\/18\/success-what-is-it-and-how-can-it-help-you\/","title":{"rendered":"SUCCESS &#8211; What is it and how can it help you?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El Dorado &#8211; About half of the population of El Dorado and Union County is over age 55.\u00a0 As we age, our bodies can become more challenging.\u00a0 Caregiving for loved ones can be the most rewarding experience of our lives, but that comes with its own set of challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The South Arkansas Center on Aging Education Center has educational materials, education events, workshops and fun!\u00a0 But, in addition to helping our aging population age the best way possible, we are working to develop a comprehensive Center for Caregivers and the <strong>SUCCESS <\/strong>caregiver support\u00a0program is a big part of that.\u00a0 <strong>SUCCESS<\/strong> is an acronym for <strong>S<\/strong>erving the <strong>U<\/strong>nique needs of older adults in the <strong>C<\/strong>ommunity by providing <strong>C<\/strong>aregiver <strong>E<\/strong>nhanced <strong>S<\/strong>upport <strong>S<\/strong>ervices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What does all of this mean?\u00a0<\/strong> It means we are here to support caregivers as much as we can.\u00a0 Our objectives are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improve the emotional well-being and depression, sense of burden, health status, and social support<\/li>\n<li>Decrease health care visits, including hospital re-admission, emergency room visits and nursing home placement for the patient.<\/li>\n<li>Increase caregivers&#8217; satisfaction with their ability to care for the patient.<\/li>\n<li>Cost savings by delaying and\/or preventing long term care admission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are a caregiver and you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, inadequate, or burnt out, then the FREE <strong>SUCCESS<\/strong> program may be for you.\u00a0 We offer one-on-one counseling with RNs and Certified Dementia Practitioners specific to the needs of the caregiver.\u00a0 We offer no-cost 24\/7 phone support.\u00a0 We have resources and suggestions to make caring for your loved one more manageable, with no out of pocket expenses.\u00a0 We do focus on Alzheimer&#8217;s Disease and other dementias, but all caregivers are encouraged to call.<\/p>\n<p>All caregivers are welcome to call our office\/help line any time at 870-881-8969.\u00a0 You may also visit our offices at 106 West Main Street, Suite 310 (3rd Floor above PJ&#8217;s Coffee) in El Dorado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El Dorado &#8211; About half of the population of El Dorado and Union County is over age 55.\u00a0 As we age, our bodies can become more challenging.\u00a0 Caregiving for loved ones can be the most rewarding experience of our lives, but that comes with its own set of challenges.
